On Saturday, December 6th from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company (FMB) in Buellton will host a special holiday fundraiser to support People Helping People (PHP), in partnership with Toys 4 Tots,” for the annual Christmas Fulfill-A-Wish Program. The event benefits low-income children and families in the Santa Ynez Valley, Los Alamos, and Gaviota Coast.

The Fulfill-A-Wish “Christmas Boutique” will be open on December 18, 19, and 20 so that eligible people can personally select gifts for their spouse and/or children from an array of donated items in a store-like atmosphere. The families that will participate in the boutique are those who struggle throughout the year to make ends meet by working two and three jobs, along with those who are unable to work because of illness or injury, or who have lost employment. These families may otherwise wake up on Christmas morning with very little to celebrate.

PHP’s Christmas Fulfill-A-Wish/Toys 4 Tots Program relies solely on donations of cash, new clothes, toys and gift items for adults, teens and children. With the increase in need this year, FMB has generously stepped in to ensure that every one of the families will have something to share under their Christmas tree.

“Not only is ‘Fig’ donating a portion for their proceeds from the entire day to the PHP Fulfull-A-Wish Program, they will also be collecting unwrapped toys and gift items, new clothes and gift certificates at their Buellton location in the weeks surrounding the fundraising event,” said Erica Valdés, PHP’s Associate Development Director.

According to Valdés, guests who attend the event will not only enjoy the afternoon’s festivities, but have an opportunity to bring new unwrapped gifts valued at $25 or less for babies, children, teens and adults (please no stuffed animals) to the event.

The brewery is a family friendly environment and food and soft drinks will be available in addition to the many beers that FMB produces. Food will be prepared and sold by Beto’s Place who will also be donating a percentage of his proceeds to the Fulfill-A-Wish Program. FMB and PHP will be selling raffle tickets for a drawing that afternoon, with prizes such as FMB’s 4th Anniversary Ale and 2 VIP tickets to the 2015 Polo Classic, valued at $500.

In addition to the award winning beer and amazing raffle prizes, attendees will also enjoy a visit from Santa Claus, live music by local musician, Arwen Lewis, and more. PHP staff will be present at the fundraiser to meet and greet patrons, offer information and answer questions about the Fulfill-A-Wish and other PHP programs and services.
