Luz Sanchez Uribe

Luz is a Community Health Worker and Case Manager at People Helping People, bringing five years of experience helping individuals and families connect with healthcare, housing, food assistance, and other resources that can help create greater stability. She works alongside her clients to understand their options, navigate challenges, and take the next step forward.

Resilient and determined herself, Luz often reminds the people she serves that life gets hard, but the way forward begins one step at a time, putting one foot in front of the other. Having learned English as an adult, she understands what it means to navigate something unfamiliar, keep going when it isn’t easy, and grow more confident along the way. She brings that perspective—and an unmistakable can-do spirit—to her work and is often among the first to step in when someone needs help.

That instinct to care for others extends well beyond PHP. Luz is deeply devoted to her family and especially proud of her two adult children. She loves music and dancing and is known around the office for keeping some of the best Mexican candies at her desk, ready to welcome clients, coworkers, and visitors of every age with a little something sweet.
