photo, title update, Emily is the Communications & Engagement Coordinator at People Helping People, helping ensure PHP shows up in the community with a consistent, welcoming, and connected presence. She works across programs to coordinate outreach, communications, and community engagement—from youth prevention and food distribution to Fulfill-a-Wish, Legacies of Hope, and PHP’s healthcare outreach and navigation efforts.

Much of Emily’s work happens behind the scenes, bringing together the details that allow PHP’s teams to be prepared and present wherever the community encounters them. Whether she is coordinating an outreach event, preparing materials and messaging, or helping different programs communicate as one organization, Emily brings exceptional attention to detail, kindness, and an optimistic spirit to her work.

Born and raised in the Santa Ynez Valley, Emily’s connection to PHP began when she participated in its youth programs as a high school student. She experienced firsthand how much young people can contribute when they are given opportunities to share their ideas, get involved, and recognize their own potential. After earning her degree in psychology, she returned to that work from the other side, supporting youth and helping create those same opportunities for another generation.

Today, that perspective informs how Emily helps PHP connect with the entire community—making sure people know we are here, understand the support available to them, and feel welcomed when they find us.
