Happy Canyon Vineyard Hosts 2025 Santa Ynez Valley Polo Classic Fundraiser
Tickets are now available for the Polo Classic, presented by Happy Canyon Vineyard at Piocho Ranch to once again benefit the mission of the nonprofit People Helping People (PHP), dedicated to improving the lives of low-income adults and children in the Santa Ynez Valley and Los Alamos by supplying basic needs and support services which lead to self-sufficiency.
“We are so thrilled these amazing partners are again hosting this premier summer event to bring attention and resources to the people in our community who work very hard in our fields, our restaurants, and our vineyards. Their good will and generosity is remarkable,” said Becky Barieau, PHP board president.
Last October the hosts of the Polo Classic, T.J. Barrack, and Sean and Jodi Pitts of Happy Canyon Vineyard and Piocho Ranch, were awarded the Legacies of Hope “Luminary Award” by People Helping People for inspiring a community of compassion and giving.
“People in need range from the people that work here. They work in our vineyards. They farm our land. They teach our kids. These are the folks that need People Helping People the most. The intersection of those two teams and combining in a mission to support this community, is why we continue to support People Helping People today,” said Sean Pitts, Happy Canyon Vineyard executive winemaker and president.
“What we’re really trying to accomplish is to strengthen our neighborhood, to strengthen our neighbors, our community; to make sure that the people who are here are cared for. And when somebody’s down, you help them up, because at some point, you’re going to be down and you’re going to need help,” added TJ Barrack.
This will be the 13th annual Polo Classic which brings world-class polo to the Santa Ynez Valley including a featured match starring accomplished local players and highly rated polo veterans seen regularly during the high-goal season.
The event will take place at the picturesque Piocho Ranch, 1100 Secretariate Street in Santa Ynez.
There will be a single-level ticket price again this year, with no general or VIP admission. The ticket price includes tented seating, acclaimed BBQ lunch, and Happy Canyon Wine, for a perfect casual Sunday of polo, all for an important cause.
Gates open at 11:00am with two matches played during the afternoon. Lunch will be served in between matches at 12:30pm, with an awards ceremony and hat contest at 2:30pm.
People Helping People offers a safety net to all Santa Ynez Valley residents–from infants to the elderly–but their clients are primarily working families who struggle to afford the basics and seniors on a fixed income. PHP’s objective is to help people reach self-sufficiency, not just by getting them through a crisis, but by helping them gain access to the services that allow them to stabilize and thrive.
