The Solvang Chamber of Commerce’s  Community Awards Banquet was held on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Root 246.

Community all-stars and their supporters were out in force Thursday night to honor businesses, non-profit organizations, and their employees for their good works.

People Helping People was very proud to be honored along with its Volunteer of the Year, Becky Barieau, with a Merit Award. Becky has been PHP’s Treasurer, President, and Chair of PHP’s fundraiser for farm and vineyard workers services, Vino de Sueños. Her dedication has resulted in an improved bottom line and the implementation of an accounting system. That system was recently recognized by PHP’s Auditors as highly sophisticated and presenting a stable picture of the organization.
